Harm Reduction work is critical to keeping our communities safe. I have seen firsthand how empowering injection drug users and providing healthier ways to use, can prevent overdoses, HIV, and Hep C transmission. HIPS works with folks to ensure they know their options, and can make their own choices when it comes to managing risks and staying safe. The concern and care that HIPS shows our clients is unparalleled, and many people come to HIPS for the care and treatment they cannot receive anywhere else.
The DC community relies on HIPS to keep us all safer, and I'm proud to support them.
Our Board is a reflection of our culture: we are diverse, collaborative, intentional, empathetic, honest, and deeply committed.
HIPS advances the health rights and dignity, of people and communities impacted by sex work and drug use by providing non-judgmental harm reduction services, advocacy, and community engagement led by those with lived experience.
